MerCruiser V6 (Alpha) Sterndrive Logbook Service

Flat rate labour on sterndrive V6 MerCruiser logbook service (recommended annually or every 100 hours, whichever first).

Labour rate Includes (*some items do not apply to all engines):

Inspect engine and stern drive unit - for visible damage, run engine to test operation*, check engine diagnostic system for engine data/fault codes*, test engine compression rates.
Service stern drive - Drain gear housing and refill with HP gear oil*, remove gear housing and service water pump/circulation pump*, clean out passages*, check uni joints* and engine mounts, check engine alignment, inspect gimbal bearing and bellows*, inspect propeller & grease prop shaft spline*, lubricate drive shaft splines*, torque prop shaft nut to specification*, grease throttle and shift linkages*, inspect ground wire continuity*, lubricate throttle/shift linkage pivot points*, check/replace sacrificial anodes*.
Service engine - Check and inspect spark plugs and ignition components, check all electrical connections, change engine oil and replace oil filter, check battery terminals and isolation switch*, remove engine deposits with power tune*, inspect fuel tank, lines and connections (where visible)*, clean or replace fuel filters, inspect power steering system & oil level, check primary throttle pickups and throttle stop*, check all fluid levels, inspect engine belts and pulleys, adjust carburetor mixture and idle speed*. Run engine* and check the following items – Starting/choke operation*, Gear shift and Reverse operation, Water pressure and operating temperature, test power trim system, check all gauges, mixture and idle speed (carburetor)*, battery charging rate.
